Introducing Stories - A New Way to Create, Play, and Share Adventures with Your Favorite Characters

Today, we’re excited to launch Stories, a brand-new format where users can create and share adventures starring their favorite Characters. Stories offer a fun and visual way to play and explore through interactive fiction. 

Built for All Users — Especially Teens

Stories introduces a structured, visual, multi-path format for telling stories with AI that maintains momentum while letting users guide the story’s direction.

Following recent updates for under-18 users, Stories is our first new format created specifically to enhance their experience. Stories offer a guided way to create and explore fiction, in lieu of open-ended chat. It will be offered along with our other multimodal features, so teens can continue engaging with their favorite Characters in a safety-first setting.

How It Works

With Stories, users choose two or three Characters, pick a genre, and write or auto-generate a premise. From there, the experience unfolds as a guided narrative in which the user gets to make frequent choices. Every decision steers the plot, opening new paths and possibilities along the way.

Stories are replayable, with branching routes that make each run feel fresh, and shareable, giving users something fun to compare, discuss, and pass around with friends. The feature includes: 

• Replayable Interactive Fiction: Choose your own adventure narratives, driven by user decisions, keep every play-through unique.
• Simple Creation Tools: Choose Characters, select a genre, and draft or generate a premise with help from the Stories tool.
• Visual-First Format: Image-forward storytelling, with even richer multimodal elements coming soon.
• UGC-Centric: Users can create their own Stories, build worlds, and share them widely with the community on Feed.
• Built for Teens: A guided format that maintains the fun, creativity, and imaginative spirit of Character.AI.
