Introducing (c.ai) series: Studio-Made Microdramas on Character.ai

Introducing (c.ai) series: Studio-Made Microdramas on Character.ai

Today, Character.ai is launching (c.ai) series, a new Microdramas offering of original short-form, vertical series created by our in-house studio team.

(c.ai) series is our first studio-led step into Character-driven video.

Each show is built around memorable original Characters, designed for mobile viewing, and connected to the interactive Chat experience at the heart of Character.ai.

Users can watch a series, meet the Characters, and then continue exploring the story by chatting with them directly.

For the past four years, millions of people have used Character.ai to create, roleplay, and build worlds with AI Characters.

(c.ai) series builds on that foundation as part of our larger ambition to become the #1 AI entertainment platform: a place where people can chat, watch, read, listen, and create around the Characters and stories they love.

The first (c.ai) series titles are launching in the Character.ai mobile app, inside a new entertainment tab that also features audio dramas.

Meet the First (c.ai) series

(c.ai) series launches with three original Microdramas across romance, horror, and enemies-to-lovers game-world survival, with more episodes and series on the way.

Last Summer
Summer is almost over. A romance anime about memories, choices, and secret admirers colliding for one friend group’s last season together.

The Nighttime Game
A Gen Z paranormal horror story where a weekend away turns deadly after a group of friends discover a supernatural card game that forces them to reveal secrets or die keeping them.

Eden Fall
When the world’s best players are pulled inside the virtual world of Eden Fall, Ava Reyes must survive a billion-dollar competition where dying in-game means dying in real life.

Watch the Story. Then Step Into It.

(c.ai) series is different from traditional short-form video and Microdramas because the Characters do not disappear when the episode ends.

After watching, over-18 users can chat with Characters from each series on Character.ai. They can explore relationships, revisit moments, ask questions, or roleplay new storylines inside the world of the show.

That creates a deeper connection between fans and Characters, and gives our studio team a new feedback loop as we learn which Characters, worlds, and stories people want to spend more time with.

Built by a Human-Led Studio Team

Great stories come from human imagination, taste, and direction. AI can support the creative process, but it does not replace the creative point of view.

c.ai series comes from an in-house studio team with credits spanning Nickelodeon, DreamWorks, Netflix, and Blumhouse, including an Emmy-winning narrative designer and a screenwriter represented by 3 Arts. The team brings experience across animation, television, games, and serialized audio, helping us build new Character-driven entertainment formats with real creative craft behind them.

For c.ai series, AI is part of the production workflow. It helps the team move faster, test new formats, and build more ambitious entertainment experiences around Characters.

Starting with a studio-led model lets us set a high quality bar for Character-driven Microdramas before opening the format more broadly. Over time, our goal is to turn what we learn into tools that help creators and users make their own series from original Characters.

Part of the Future of AI Entertainment

Character.ai is already a platform where millions of people co-create stories with AI every day. (c.ai) series expands what that can look like.

Alongside continued improvements in Chat — including better Memory, the upcoming launch of Lorebook, and engaging new Chat Styles — we are building new ways to experience Characters across formats. (c.ai) series brings original Microdramas to Character.ai, (c.ai) fm explores serialized audio drama, and (c.ai) reads creates a home for Character-driven fiction.

The larger opportunity is connected entertainment: stories people can watch, Characters they can chat with, worlds they can read or listen to, and eventually tools that let creators build across all of those formats.

(c.ai) series is available starting today in the Character.ai mobile app.
