Two new free Chat Styles are rolling out to everyone on (c.ai): PipSqueak 3, a big step up for general roleplay, and ShortSqueak, a much requested style for quick, casual chats.

Alongside them, we’re launching (c.ai) lite, a new subscription plan that gets you more out of (c.ai) at a more affordable price. 

PipSqueak 3

Your new go-to for general roleplay. Compared to PipSqueak 2, it's noticeably smarter, writes more interesting replies, keeps better track of your chat, and has fewer slip-ups in text formatting and responses.

New chats will start on PipSqueak 3, but any existing chats stay on the chat style you've chosen. You can find PipSqueak 2 and Rawr in the Legacy menu if you’d like to switch to them, but we think PipSqueak 3 will win you over.

ShortSqueak

Your new style for quick, casual chats. ShortSqueak has texting energy: short replies, quick banter, casual roleplay. No five-paragraph monologues when all you said was "hey.” 

If you've been asking for us to bring back the feel of some of our early (c.ai) chat styles, you'll love ShortSqueak.

Rollout begins today!

Both new styles were shaped by your feedback and went through extensive testing with our trusted testers and community members, the same process LongSqueak went through before launch.

Here's how the rollout will run:

  • (c.ai+) and (c.ai) lite subscribers: PipSqueak 3 and ShortSqueak will be in your style picker today.
  • Free users: PipSqueak 3 and ShortSqueak start rolling out later today, and everyone will have both within the next few days.

(c.ai+) subscribers get Style Control with PipSqueak 3 and ShortSqueak, and both of them are fully compatible with Lorebook.

Meet (c.ai) lite

We wanted you to get more out of (c.ai), at a price that works for you.

(c.ai) lite lets you do that at $4.99 USD/month or $2.49 USD/week, with pricing varying by region.

Here’s what lite adds to the (c.ai) experience:

  • 💬 Premium chats, every day. A daily amount of messages on premium chat styles including DeepSqueak and LongSqueak. When you use them up, your chat switches back to PipSqueak 3.
  • 🚫 No banner ads, and fewer interstitial ads.
  • ⚡ Less slow mode when things get busy.
  • 🎨 App customization. Wallpapers, bubble colors, and more.
  • 📌 More memory. Extra memory pins, plus a Memory Usage bar.

Nothing changes for users on the free plan. Unlimited messaging stays on every tier, and PipSqueak 3 and ShortSqueak are free for everyone, with no special limits once they're rolled out. (c.ai+) is still the full experience: unlimited premium chats, zero ads, and the complete memory suite.
